Aching Limbs and New Cards!

My God I ache today. I had my tonsils out about 6 weeks ago and this is the first trip back to the gym since then. Lets just say, I can definitely feel that I've been! Especially, er, in my bottom!

However, despite the pain, I did manage to make a couple of cards yesterday afternoon, with varying levels of success.

The first one used my new Pink Petticoat images which are just fab. This coupled with DCWV papers make this a very simple card. Perhaps too simple...... Not sure. I like it but I don't if you know what I mean.

I am somewhat happier with the second card however I am annoyed that I didn't put enough adhesive on the image and it has subsequently started to lift. Grrr. Anyway, I used my favourite Papermania Retro Floral papers - I just love 'em. I coloured the PP image with chalks and highlighted with Decoart glitter glue. I finished the card with ribbon and adhesive gems.

Unfortunately, I won't be getting my Cuttlebug until my birthday in July and so don't have the Nestabilities dies. However, I do have some funky kiddies scissors and that is how I mounted the image on the scalloped edge circle. Fiddley, but its worked!

I've Won an Award!

I cannot begin to tell you how chuffed I am! My Blog has only been up and running a couple of days and the lovely Jools has awarded me the 'You Make My Day' award!

The rules of the game dictate that it is now up to me to nominate 3 Blogs which I believe to be truly inspiring and inspirational. With so many fabulous Blogs out there, I will admit that I struggled to narrow it down. But, here are my top 3........

So now ladies, its your turn to proudly display your 'You Make My Day' award and in turn, each nominate 3 deserving fellow Bloggers. Who will you pick?!

At last, some new cards!

Phew. I managed to drag myself away from all of your lovely blogs just long enough to actually make a couple of cards. Struggled a bit last night though for some reason. Faffed around for a little while and randomly came up with this one when a load of paper cuttings started to encroach into the corner of my crafting area! I cut flowers out of some Papermania Retro Floral paper and layered them up in the bottom corner of the card. I added some adhesive gems to make it look a little more interesting. However, even after I'd added my Pink Petticoat Lilli image, it still looked a little flat. So, I decided to go for broke and add lots of faux stitching. Despite this cards shaky start, I am actually quite pleased with the effect!

My next effort was a little more 'standard'! I had a good ole play with my Pink Petticoat images and papers and came up with this simple card. Still fairly effective though I think.

Thats all from me at the moment. Hope to post again tomorrow though as I was naughty at work today and downloaded a few more Pink Petticoat images! No doubt they will be on here very soon......!

P.S. Does anybody know how I can get rid of this really annoying box around my signature? Its driving me crazy!

Must stop blogging and get crafting!

Oh dear. I think I might have underestimated just how addictive this blogging lark is! I haven't done any card making in days! What is the point in having a blog dedicated to card making if you don't make any cards to put on it?!

So.......tonight. Ali is out so I WILL get creative! Watch this space...............!

An Unorthadox Choice for a Pearl Wedding Anniversary....!

It is my parents 30th wedding anniversary on the 29th March and so I thought I had better make a card. Unfortunately, when I started riffling through my craft supplies, I realised that I had absolutely nothing suitable. Starting to panic, I sat scrolling through ideas on the net but all this did was make me long for a Cuttlebug even more as I saw loads of fab ideas centred around the embossing plates! My boyfriend then gave me a talking to and reliably informed me that I was looking at the problem from the wrong angle! He reminded me that my parents wouldn't necessarily expect a 'traditional' card from me and that as I was a bright and colourful person, my card should reflect that.

What a wise man?!

Anyway....the talking to did me a world of good and I immediately came up with this design. I know it isn't perhaps what you'd expect of a 30th wedding anniversary card but hey, I like it anyway!

Pink Petticoat with K & Co Papers

I am absolutely in love with the papers that I've used here. They are from an Amy Butler K & Company set.

My other love {as you will soon come to realise!} is Pink Petticoat. I just cannot get enough of the stuff. Its just so versatile, I think I will be using it forever.

Overall, this is one of my favourite cards of the moment and so I thought it was only fitting that it be the first of my, ahem, 'creations' to appear on my Blog!

We all have to start somewhere.....

Well, here it is. My first ever post on my brand new Blog!

A couple of months ago, I would never even have dreamt of doing this - I hadn't even started card making at the beginning of the year so starting up a Blog is a fairly big step I suppose!

Whilst my main reason for setting up my Blog is to share ideas with other people, I am also keen to {hopefully!} make some new crafty friends.

So....lets just hope you all like my creations!

Lots of Love,
